Megatron vs. Zod vs. Vader - I wanted to see which of these powerful, otherworldly, genocidal despots would come out on top... It'll be close, but I believe Darth Vader would be the last one (barely) standing!
Lion-O - About a decade before the current revamp aired on Cartoon Network, I developed these revisions for the classic ThunderCats...I picked them back up in early 2010 to try again, but then found out about the new show due in '11. Here they are anyway!
Tygra - I wanted Tygra to be the largest of the T-Cats, simply because tigers are larger than panthers... in MY storyline, Tygra felt his race superior to the Lion Pride, & he often butted heads with the much younger Lord Lion-O, believing he would be a better leader. I was upset to see the new show's Tygra having a similar grudge towards HIS Lion-O... not the only similarity I'd see on the revamp...
Panthro - Why did every 80's cartoon team feature a token "Mr.T" type; a large, jive-talkin', often times mechanically inclined tough "Brotha' to round out their teams? & the T-Cats made theirs a light blue boisterous ninja brute! I wanted my Panthro more like an actual panther: sleek, silent & covered in black fur! The "ninja" aspect makes more sense this way, to me at least!
Cheetara - Not much to say here...but thee are some slight similarities between my version & the new CN show's. Oh well...
WilyKitt - Basing her on the European Wildcat, I decided to kill off her annoying twin brother during the Plundarrian raid on their homeworld, before the adventures on 3rd Earth. This makes Kitt grow up with a more somber view of their reality, & adds drama to the story!
General Jaga - He commanded the Royal Honor Guard, & he died trying to protect both Lord Claudius & his son Prince Lion-O - he only succeeded in saving the boy, & his spirit bonded with Lion-O... or maybe the new Lord of the T-Cats is just imagining his ghost out of guilt...
Mumm-Ra (sketch) - I never fully nailed his complete look down, but the face was something I wanted to be able to scare ME (not easy to do)... I was really upset to see the new show's Mumm-Ra feature bat-wings in his powerful transformation in place of a cape-- I came up with that look ten years before! GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!! lol ...also had the idea to make Snarf more a pet than talking nursemaid, although more feral & less "Pikachu"... but what's done is done...
"Lion-O & The ThunderCats" ('15) - more from my reboot design.
World's Finest ('07) - Based on the 1997 3-part episode of "The New Batman/Superman Adventures" with the same name... this was for the 10th anniversary of the show.
Just a quick sketch of Batman & some of his closer allies I made at work some years back...
Dr. Doom ('06) - an early attempt to see if I could draw him from memory...
Lex, Supes & Lois ('06) - ...I believe I was subconsciously trying to incorporate "Smallville's" Erica Durance into this pic of Lois Lane; not saying that it looks like her, but she was probably on my mind at the time I was drawing this...
Two-Face ('06) - One of my fave Bat-Villains, I thought it was cool when the movie "The Dark Knight" featured a similarly disfigured Two-Face... told me I was doing something right...
Wonder Woman ('06)
Endless Waltz ('04) - Admittedly, I draw some inspiration for my Joker from the '90's animated series, but with a few comic-styled variations thrown in...
Superman ('04) - I loved how this came out at the time, but then it got rain-damaged before I could scan it... currently working on fixing it...
Justice League (late '03-early '04) - inspired by the animated series of the same name.
"Batman: Never Again" ('15) - The Dark Knight deals with an all-too familiar situation before it's too late.
Wonder Woman ('15)
Classic X-men ('06) - Never really drew them before, so I tried to work from memory...
Mystique ('15) - my first time drawing her.
Boba Fett vs. Predator - This was done many years ago, but was left unfinished at the time... I think it would be a fun fight to see!
Megatron, G1 style ('06)
Megatron, G1 style ('15)
"Cheap Shot" ('15) - just another day at the Decepticon office!
"Instruments of Destruction" ('15) - my homage to the moment G1 TransFormers got real for many of us!
My tribute to the fallen Autobots from the 1986 classic movie... & yes, I am aware I wrote "memorandum" instead of "memoriam", but I was so focused on the lettering style, I didn't notice until after it was inked out... otherwise, I thought it came out well... (2015)
My take on Inspector Gadget ('14).
"Look Out!" ('14) - more Inspector Gadget goodness!
"Frieza on Namek" ('15) - I always wanted to try my hand at this character... not too bad for a first attempt...?
