My role is often to help the client see the space while materials and fixtures are being chosen so it's important to be able to render as many options as efficiently as possible. My methods are to use either a Sketchup wireframe (if new construction) with Photoshop; or if it's a refit space, use an existing photo and Photoshop on top of it. This allows all to see every detail of the fixtures and finishes in context.
