The inspiration for the coat stand came from watching people in the park hang there clothes on the trees using both branches and tucking items in-between branches. The organic shapes and the bright green color aim to convey a natural elegance of the product. The name "VOIL" comes from a small freshwater loch in Scotland which scenic environment inspired the design. The name can also be seen in the shapes that make up the design. The iconic shapes of the coat stand were carefully designed to allow different items of clothing to be tucked in or hung on. The coat stand can extend into an “X” shape to allow more area for clothing to be hung. However, when more floor space is needed the coat stand can be folded back into a flat shape and leaned against the wall.
