Launched in January 2015 the Dyson ‘Big Ball’ vacuum has several parts in it's cyclone assembly developed under my ownership, including;
- Plastic injection moulded parts including performance critical new technology
- Plastic overmoulded steel mesh shroud
- Stamped EPDM foam seals
During my project work I have developed a detailed understanding of key industry principles such as;
-Airflow through a dynamic system
- Airtight sealing between individual components
- Filtration methods and standards up to HEPA grade

Dyson Cinetic Big Ball
Working in the Separation Systems team I have helped design and develop Lifetime Filtration products for Dysons' floorcare category, including the Dyson "Big Ball" upright vacuum cleaner (launched Jan 2015). I have seen projects through to production using an iterative design process where my work has encompassed;
- CAD design of several production parts
- Design for manufacture & manufacturing drawings of production parts
- Prototype building and test setup for product performance testing
- Investigative testing and problem solving performance issues
- Use of PLM software for the set up and archiving of project and test data
