Our House: Rethinking Home in a Changing Climate at CAS/PNNM

"Our House: Rethinking Home in a Changing Climate" is the second in a series of climate change exhibitions produced in-house at the Chicago Academy of Sciences / Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. When I came into this project midstream, I was handed an in-progress script and told that it needed less architecture and more nature. I substantially revised the content structure and rewrote the exhibit copy, adding an entirely new section on climate change and ecology that led to $25,000 in sponsorship from a funder that is now a regular exhibition sponsor for the institution.

In-house evaluation proves that visitors came away with an understanding of the main climate change and sustainability messages told in the exhibition.

Evaluation and continued iterative prototyping of several interactives after the exhibition's opening demonstrably improved the visitor experience for a wider range of ages.

Our House is the Nature Museum's second traveling exhibition and is available for booking.
