The buttons were designed to be easily readable by the visually impaired by utilizing three distinct methods of identification; color, symbolism, and braille. The location of the buttons should also help the user.

When placed over a letter the scanner helps convert images into text and then into audio. This helps independent living for the visually impaired and allows them to read their own post without having to rely on family or friends
This model was designed in Solidworks, printed on a powder and glue machine, painted and made to feel as close to a working unit by using foam under buttons to give tactile feedback and inserting a real USB port into the rear and audio jack in the front. This allows end users to really test the device before developing it further
