Road to Final Four illo
I have to admit that the original concept of a tank theme wasn't mine. A sports editor suggested it because Frank Kaminsky's nickname is "Tank." But I pushed it as hard as I could. Tough to find a good tank. And tough to find a starting five with expressions that would work. Still annoyed I couldn't find a better shot of Nigel Hayes (lower left) but settled for four out of five The flag was easy. Couple of emails of complaint from people who said it made light of war, but we knew we might get a little of that going in. I don't get a lot of chances to do photo illustrations so this was fun.
