This map, created at the University of Tennessee as a part of a geovisulation course, displays the number of oil and gas surface wells in each Tennessee block group. The spatial patterns which emerge from this map reveal potential environmental, economic, and community impacts surrounding areas like the oil-rich region of Northeast Tennessee.
