UTK Campus Design Project
Our proposed development, designed by Elena Goss and Nico Espinosa, will focus on creating a landscape that is not only united with itself, but with the rest of campus. It pulls from multiple different campus sites. It boasts council rings inspired by the Native American Interpretive Garden, conversation pits inspired by the Robinson Hall landscape, an amphitheater inspired by the Humanities and Social Sciences Building’s amphitheater, and gathering areas inspired by the Morgan Hall landscape.
Overall, this area is intended to provide an innovative, natural space for students to employ for community as well as solitary reflection. Circulation, community, learning, drainage, and sustainability are prioritized in this new, student-centric space.
