When asked to create a Pet Carrier for Outward Hound, I was PAWsitively happy to dive right in. After enless hours of research, 3rd party testing requirements & CPSC & ASTM safety standards we decided to split this project into two skus that solved the problems of traveling by creating two separate solutions.
The Airline carrier - needed to offer a soothing solution that created a comforting travel experience for the pup. We experimented with collapsable & expanding forms to create the most comforting experience for the pup & deliver stress-free user experience for the human.
The Pet tour carrier - focused on safely strapping the carrier into the car with the universal safety belt attachment system. After testing differnt carriers on the market, I found most of them we’re extremely difficult & confusing to install in the car. I wanted to make a frusterating, awkward experience EASY & QUICK for the human to safely travel with their pup
