Although our ideal material for the kiosk overhang would have been a translucent plastic, for the project appearance model we constructed it using sheer curtains from Wal-Mart.

Tech Square Kiosk Redesign

Spring 2015
Team Members: Natalie Larkins, Kaitlyn Shinault
The goal of this project was to redesign the confusing, outdated parking kiosks that line Tech Square in Atlanta. Our team designed a sleek, futuristic-looking kiosk that attempted to reflect Georgia Tech as a school, while reducing the interface to a single, simple dial and a keypad (instead of the current confusing array of mislabeled buttons). The interface also implemented a system of tracking license plate numbers instead of spot numbers, a system that has already been successfully tested in several other cities.
