PAELLA IN THE PARK - A 25th birthday celebration held in a beautiful nature reserve a short drive from the center of Valencia. A bold, but fun colour scheme was chosen in contrast with the natural colours of the surroundings. Wild flowers and other plants were picked from the area, loosely bound with twine and placed with unnecessary thought in the center of the tables. The colourful bunting added height and helped clearly define the party space. All of the chosen table wares were disposable which helped complete feeling of the 'typical-Spanish-Sunday-picnic-paella'!
Colourful bunting used to add height and to define the party area.

Wedding September 2013. A relaxed almost informal (compared to Spanish wedding standards) wedding reflecting the personality and the story of the husband and wife. A fusion of an English and Spanish family.
The flower arrangements were designed to reflect the wife - the pale delicate English rose and the husband - the strong succulent plants typically found in Spain.
The flower arrangements were designed to sit on the long tables between floating candles.
The bouquet, rings and cake toppers. Cake toppers were hand painted by myself to look like the bride and groom.
It was decided the maid or honor would have a wrist corsage instead of a bouquet. The results were quirky but worked very well. The colour of the maid of honors dressed matched the best mans and the grooms tie.
A fun addition for the flower girls! Here comes the bride sign.
Two organza pouches; one containing a tissue with a label saying 'for your tears of happiness'. A cute touch that the girls appreciated; and the other containing a perfect handful of rice and paper confetti.
A CD with a thank you note to all of the guests and a playlist with songs dedicated to certain people at the wedding party. A cute gift for the whole wedding party. Designed and printed by myself.
The head table. All of the tables had a hessian runner running the whole length of the table. Together with the green, grey and light pink from the flowers made for an elegant colour scheme.
The bunting was hand crafted from an old tablecloth given to the bride by her grooms auntie. 'Something old'.
Natural lighting was important for when the sun slowly descended behind the Montgo Mountain. Oil lamp torches were used in the garden, candles on the tables and two high voltage lamps were carefully placed to illuminate the walls surrounding the dining area - reflecting the perfect amount of light onto the tables.

A simple and important part of the Brides special day. The wedding cake made by her mother using the recipe for butterfly cakes she used to make her when she was a child.
It was important that the invitations created an anticipated idea of the upcoming wedding. Many of the Spanish guests were surprised to receive such an informal, fun-looking, creative invitation.
