Alata (Low-No-Tech Speaker) - Product Design
Alata is a project that uses the fruit of the gourd plant (Crescentia alata) native to Central America and southern Mexico. It is a speaker of low / no technology to enhance / improve the sound of mobile phones using the form and properties of the gourd; while a contrast is created between the natural and artificial, creating an object of desire pleasing to the touch that also meets its primary function of enhancing sound.
