Masonry Through a Lens

Masonry Design and Construction
Instructor: Mark Swanson
May Term 2016

This hands-on course started with observing examples of local masonry and the context in which it is used. By researching masonry buildings around the world and through visits to the Lakewood Cemetery Mausoleum and Memorial Chapel, a stronger understanding of how masonry can be applied and manipulated was developed.

Photographing and sketching were the means used to record what was seen.
