The Corset Chair was designed to be comfortable despite the unforgiving nature of its structural components. The back flexes from the pressure of a sitter, allowing the user to sit back and relax. The crossbars are placed such that the sitter never comes in contact with them, but instead the weight of the person is born by the seat and back suspended between the sides of the frame.

Corset Chair
Designed and built in Denmark as part of a foreign study program in Furniture Design. The corset chair appears to be one continuous piece of metal that supports two pieces of stretched fabric, a hammock-like seat and back. The sitter never comes in contact with the metal structure. The rear of the back is held together with a corset-like lace.
