Rendering of the SolidWorks model. Air passes from left to right, coming in from the MAF sensor and exiting directly into the turbocharger.
A deflection simulation performed on the blade (disc in center) of the butterfly-style throttle. In this way I was able to minimize the thickness of the blade, improving flow.
The redesigned throttle, seen here, is more complicated to manufacture and requires greater precision, but for a one-off design, this was far out-weighed by improvements in performance.
An example of a typical manufacturing drawing that I would make for use in the machine shop and the final report.
