RISD Snowboard Boots Packaging Design

2009 - RISD Studio
Snowboarding boots are packaged in a cardboard box that is typically thrown away once opened. My redesign offers a second use for the packaging as a shelving unit. I used the popular snowboard company, Burton, as a case study.
The packaging could come in a variety of colors that appeal to “Burton girls”. The only part of the packaging that would be thrown away is a label with information about the Green Mountain Project and the boot size. The label would be printed on recycled cardboard and sized to fit into the squares cut into the box. (Sample text from burton.com description of the GMP Emerald boot in 2009)
The side of the packaging-turned-shelving unit has a large space for a company logo. I chose to feature the Burton Green Mountain Project logo because I imagine this packaging would be used for their line of GMP boots made from environmentally friendly materials.
*This project is in no way affiliated with the actual Burton Snowboard Company*
