This sling was designed for the new Moby Smart Sling 3-Stage Bathtub. This tub and sling system is unique because it is designed to "grow" with your baby. Stage 1 is a hammock-style sling that suspends the baby over the bath tub. As the baby gets older, the sling can convert to the stage 2 seat-style sling which allows the baby to sit up while still providing back and bottom support to prevent the baby from sliding forward. Once the baby is old enough to sit confidently on their own, the sling is removed entirely. The sling is made from a soft squishy air mesh and foam that provides comfortable support and dries easily.
I worked closely with a sample sewer to develop prototypes and patterns for this piece to ensure it fit the tub and it would cradle a baby properly. I tested the prototypes with babies to ensure the concept worked well. Moby Tub & Sling system designed in collaboration with Albert Kwak, Ben Bearsch, and Chelsea Carter.
