Museum web logo

Although Brighton Toy and Model Museum already had a quite detailed "crest" design that it uses for establishing corporate identity, the crest had too much fine detail to work well and be legible on webpages at small sizes.

As a supplementary logo primarily for web use, I decided on something simple and highly legible that would work well in black and white. I decided to use the museum's full name at maximum size, accompanied by a stylised graphic of the museum's four arches.

The four Victorian railway arches express most of the key information that the logo needed to convey – the museum's size (four units, plus admin and workspaces), its emphasis (lots of model railways and steam engines, pre-1955) and its location (on the slope under Brighton Railway Station).
