The AMD 50x15 Initiative represents a commitment to connect 50 percent of the world's population to the Internet by the year 2015. The contest intends to bring together teams of students from varied disciplines – engineering, marketing, business, manufacturing, industrial design, and more – to formulate ideas to make 50x15 happen.

The participation in this contest gave as result the FlyTech, which tried to reach the population by interval of young people as change agents, being the target users of this computing device focused on education that thanks to its reduced design could turn into their e-notepad, which they could take to their houses and benefited the family, community, and surroundings, contributing to shorten the digital barrier and improve the access to technologies of the information.
