Hand Tool Redesign - This page is a brief overview on my process of redesigning the Stanley Multi-saw. My objective was to understand the usage of the tool and how that applied to it's ergonomic qualities by eliminating awkward hand positions, and also limiting the user to only one unmistakable hand gripping position.
Form and function - When designing this piece of tableware I started by choosing something from nature to inspire the form. Since my serving dish was made to serve caviar I felt it would be appropriate to choose a fish such as the salmon for my source of inspiration. The shape suggests the fluid movement of a fish and the distinguishable beak shaped mouth of a salmon. The smaller dish holds the caviar and is placed inside the bigger dish representing the eggs in the stomach of the fish.
Art Deco Clock - The concept was to choose a style or movement of the past and design a clock with those trends in mind. I obviously chose Art Deco to influence my design. I looked at alot of architecture from the 1930's in california and southeastern united states to get a lot of my inspiration.
