SneakerBR Collab to celebrate it's anniversary / Inspired by the Lanceiro (pictured above) and the Mangue Beat movement from Recife, Brazil.
A bold color blocking blending white/off-white with bright colorful graphics from the Lanceiro costume. Suede / Leather + Reflective and Lenticular details.
The phrase on the foxing area was done in reflective print with an iconic phrase from one of the lyrics from Chico Science and Nação Zumbi band. it translates to: "One step ahead" (left shoe) "and you're not in the same place" (right shoe)
The "mud" and crab graphics in the Oustole / Midsole is also inspired by one of the albums and lyrics from the band. It's as if the Lanceiro character was walking on mud while dancing in the Recife Carnival.
Beads printed not he sockliner and 2nd lace comes from the colorful wig the Lanceiro character used in the Recife carnival.
Reports from JUXTAPOZ mag / Japanese street fashion mag
A couple sneaker heads liked the sneaker so much that they got it tattooed!
This sneaker head also got the foxing printed phrases tattooed!!

NIKE NSW Air Max 1 "Lanceiro"

I was the lead designer of the Air Max 1 Lanceiro quickstrike / energy project for Nike NSW Brazil at the Nike CASA Design pod in São Paulo / Brazil.
The project was created to celebrate the anniversary of SneakersBR (SBR), the main sneaker media channel in Brazil, first it a sneaker blog then a Magazine created by Ricardo Nunes. We created the concept together with NSW team and it was inspired by the Lanceiro and the Mangue Beat movement and Chico Science, from Pernambuco state in NE Brazil.
The project launched in Brazil in limited quantities and was super successful, reaching a global audience. A couple sneaker heads even got it tattooed!!
