SPECIAL CHALLENGES: Create a collaborative space for think tank company Next. Space must comply with ADA and applicable codes. Next desires designated spaces for collaborative work, displaying previous projects, and hosting community events. As part of a challenge hosted by Steelcase Inc., this design was also required to source at least 80% of the furnishings through Steelcase brands.
DESIGN STATEMENT: The design concept for Next draws a parallel between the connected nature of collaboration and the connected nature of organic geometry (such as honeycombs and root systems). There is an emphasis on transparency and flexibility to meet Next's needs in the present as well as the future.
