The Floater - floating furniture - A group based project based upon an aspect of pop culture... in this case cartoons and their 'logic defying' physics and objects. "Why can't furniture float?" it would maximise floor space when not in use and create a multifunctional living environment utilising the ceiling as the most effective form of passive storage yet. Simply pull down a chair... A great concept that can be applied to numerous situations, from house parties to promotional stands.
'Sun essence-ials' - RSA 2002 structural packaging finalist - Based on the RSA 2002 brief for structural packaging category for a sun protection product. Utilising the packaging as an innovative point of sales display with its polyurethane foam casing which also funstions as an hygenic application glove to apply the sun proective gel contained within individual use capsules within. Concept presented to the RSA judging panel including Mondi Packaging and Procter & Gamble representatives.
Think Tank - Hydroponic Aquarium - A product that i feel reflects my design approach... an interior, technical and fun design. This concept is a refreshing re-think of the conventional household aquarium using a marshland filtration method (applied by some paper processing plants in Sweden) with freshwater plants absorbing the manufactured waste. The Think Tank aquarium brings hydroponics into the homes and schools as an environmental solution to waste reprocessing. Simply put, plants absorb the fish poo and the system grows! It's a natural filtration system that adjusts to the amount of biowaste produced in a natural and visible manner.
