3D Printed bone healing cast
This project I did for a class i am taking on polymers and structural materials. This 3D printed cast is a prototype of a product i had to develop using polymers in biomedicine. The product was a customizable, breathable, biodegradable 3D printed PLA cast that could heal your broken bones 40-60% faster. The bone healing technology comes from ultrasonic vibrations from a transducer seamlessly interfaced in the design of the cast. The ultrasonic vibrations cause micro movement between bones which stimulate secondary bone growth.
