The Silhouette Trading Space

The spatial concept and design is a resulting outcome from researching and studying the interactions between sale representatives and consumers in Chadstone Shopping Centre. The design takes into consideration the need for the retail market to respond to the change in shopping behaviour from customers visiting shopping centres to online shopping as well as a growing market in second-hand shopping.

Considering this change in shopping behaviour, the concept of 'The Silhouette Trading Space' is to create an alternative to online shopping for consumers where they become the seller and where they can display any new or second-hand item for sale. Interested buyers communicate with the sellers via SMS, Facebook or other social networking media in a relaxed seating arrangements for customers.
