Human Powered Charger for One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) - For my ME 270 project, our team needed to design, build, and test a prototype. The prototype needed to be able to charge a battery without using an electrical input. Our team made a dual pull string charger that met all our criteria. It was the first time I had built something from scratch that I really felt did something important as it was for people in third world countries without an electrical grid. I really matured as an engineer in this project.
