Originally we went for the traditional mad scientist, so I set about creating different silhouettes to experiment with shapes and forms.
After a meeting we decided to try a more family friendly root with an anthropomorphic character lead, in this case an Anteater. The animal felt to be the perfect fit as it ate the very insects that Nippon were targeting. I tried different versions and even though of a lab assistant to go with him.
This was the final rough sketch before project was halted.

Concept Art - Nippon Mad Scientist

The marketing team for Nippon South Africa wanted to pitch a new wave of advertising for the brand.
As a pest control company, they wanted a Mad Scientist character who would create all the various chemicals needed to combat the local vermin. This was to be a Television and Internet advertising campaign.
Sadly it never got past the original rough sketch stages.
