Taking an ordinary Terracotta brick and carving it so that it begins to look like Rebar (saria). Switching out the materiality of one constructional item for another is in it self no big accomplishment but the goal was to change the module of the brick and further show the fragility aspect of the brick and so by making it resemble rebar and then breaking said rebar in a way that could never occur otherwise I hoped to show that symbols impart certain underlying messages and when we break those preconceived notions then we can break away from forced view points and develop an entirely new mindset.
