Alphabox - Winner, Graphic Design, Ibda'a Media Student Awards 2004, Dubai Media City - Alphabox by Jeff Noon is a mysterious, surreal short story based on letters and their relationship to story-telling. In the story, a writer has his letters hand-delivered to him each day one by one, in a mysterious wooden box, struggling to break free.
I thought of using type in a very playful, graphic way to illustrate the essence of the story - letters with a mind of their own. Overall I wanted the feel of the cover to epitomize the the Alphabox story. Quirky, with a dark sense of humor.
