Design Innovation in Plastic is a student competition running every year. The aim of
the competition was to design a product in plastics suitable for mass production that
clearly demonstrates creativity and value for money in a refreshing way.

Result:
Each person in the UK uses 150 litres of water every day, 33% of which is for personal washing. Most people would like to change their behaviour yet still enjoy a shower.
With this product a 10-minute shower will now use only 5 minutes of water flow.
Water flow in the shower head pushes a small ball up through a spiral in the tube and stops the flow after 60 seconds when soap or shampoo can be used. When the shower head is placed back on its bracket, water pressure is released and the ball returns to its original position. This saves water, money and energy, and reduces the carbon footprint. In addition, a visually humorous effect of filling a water balloon is created.
