TurboWriter had a very preliminary prototype of it's product developed and big ideas for what it wanted to be; a free community of template creators and users as well as an enterprise level piece of software for solving complex document creation and collaboration problems. This project had a little bit of everything...a usability test at the beginning of the project and task analysis all the way to UX design and wireframing.
After researching TurboWriter's user population and discussing the business goals a UX strategy was created including competitive analysis and user profiles. In the end this project resulted in a 57 page detailed specification including click-by-click explanation of the interaction design.
This is an example of the detailed wireframes that were created.
TurboWriter has 3 user types, Template Creators, Project Managers and Writers. The Project Managers and the Writers would both be working in the Project section of Turbo Writer. The challenge was to create an interface that was simple for the Writers but gave the Managers all of the functionality they wanted and needed.
This was a preliminary map of all of the pages that would be necessary for TurboWriter based on the initial task analysis.
This is an example of the task analysis that was performed in order to create the detailed UX strategy.
