The Origin of Fear - Fear began as a word, not a feeling. In Old English it pronounced calamity and disaster; ancient Germanic knew it as ambush or danger, while Icelandic adaptations spoke of treachery. This word evolved, became a portrayal of terror and shock. As an emotion it is very powerful, creating twinges and flickers, agitation and anxiety. It is a tool, used by some to fortify and make stronger and used by others to intimidate and destroy.
No Fear - Our bodies and mind have a sensitivity that is directly influenced by our environment. It voices contentment and ease while strolling down a sunny street. It invites hesitation and nervousness crossing a darkened alley. Calm is not the absence of fear, it is the conquest over it. No Fear combines elements of awareness, reaction, and position to create a defense system that protects and ultimatly produces calm.
Look - Look enhances peripheral vision by synthesizing retinal cones creating a wider field of vision thus providing a superior awareness at all times.
Touch - Touch comprehends and responds before the conscious can react. Sensors monitor adrenal levels and heart rate, activating the defense system when levels indicate sufficient anxiety or fear. Once active, one touch will respond to unwarranted contact with electrical current, deterring the continuation of assault.
Hold - Hold serves a dual purpose. On the surface, it carries the defensive gauntlets when not being worn; beneath, it sends a signal locating its wearer if the need for aid arises. Where we cannot eliminate threat and violence, we can choose to inspire confidence and strength until there is no fear.
