Illustration and typesetting for former congressman Nick Lampson's book, "The Death of Washington's Democracy".
Nick approached me for this project with a very specific aesthetic in mind. He wanted the two presidents in a single style with each instantly recognizable.
The difficult part was having no photographic references of George Washington. I heavily referenced his currency portrait which is public domain.
For Donald Trump, I amassed several video stills from various news reels to reference in order to capture that iconic facial expression.
