Year 2/ Project SA3/ Khomotso Crèche
UoN’s Department of Architecture and the Built Environment offer the opportunity
of a project in the second year of the degree to design and build a nursery school
in the Limpopo region of South Africa. Each person in the team fundraised £1,000 purely for building materials for the school, which we built ourselves in Easter 2014 in 4 weeks. The experience was honestly life changing and immensely rewarding on a human and architectural level, I also gained other practical skills such as bricklaying, woodwork and concrete drilling as well as working as part of a 25 person team
