London Stories

In mid-2018 the AOI and London Transport Museum ran the Poster Prize for Illustration 2019, on the theme of London Stories.

Artists were invited to "visually capture a familiar or lesser-known narrative in a single image. All stories, current or historical, real or fictional which feature this amazing city are welcome – your imagination is the limit. Stories could be those seen in a film or play, heard in poetry or music, or read in literature. They may be family anecdotes, or an impression of your daily observations. Your visual story could be inspired by London’s history or contemporary city living. What stories does London have to tell?"

I choose to create an image based on the story of the Phantom No. 7 bus that haunts the roads around Cambridge Gardens in Ladbroke Grove, west London. And I'm happy to say that my entry has been shortlisted by the jury and will be appearing in the exhibition at the London transport Museum between the 8th February and 14th July, 2019.
