Concepts NREC Spring Hysteresis Test Rig

This a spring washer hysteresis test rig entirely designed and machined by me. This design uses the hydraulic press to push the springs down and record the force the springs are exerting at a certain length of travel as the press is going down. This is done with the use of a load cell and fine resolution gauge in combination with the rig. The springs are placed in a stack as seen in the picture and then placed inside the metal cylinder. Once the full load is placed on the springs the hydraulic press is allowed to travel up while taking force measurements at the same distances to observe the difference in force output from the springs. This difference is the hysteresis of the spring stack.
