WFTV, ABC’s Orlando FL station, upgraded their production center with Eastboard’s RACKBLOCKS© consoles & monitor walls. The modular RACKBLOCKS© system has already allowed WFTV to revise the equipment layout to suit operator preferences. The monitor walls feature our exclusive pivoting monitor mounting panels, which can be adjusted to achieve the best viewing angles.
Five RACKBLOCKS© consoles and three free-standing monitor walls were used in three control rooms, plus, the project included a very unique, 30 foot long, two-sided workstation, where editors and producers sit facing one another, separated by a three-track-wide, T-slot mounting rail, for monitor arms privacy screens, or accessories. The equipment turrets are removable & swappable, making future changes easy. Recessed power strips & dual internal cableways keep connections organized. 3D modeling was used extensively to develop the design of this full-custom console, and also for determining RACKBLOCKS console layouts..
