I took inspiration from the combination of floral and astrological designs that symbolize self-exploration and discovery. By researching the meaning of planets in astrology and how they connect back to personality traits, I was able to match each celestial body with plants that symbolize similar traits.
Luxurious fabrics and intricate embroideries take our minds back to the Regency, Romantic, and Victorian periods and remind us of fairy tales and royalty. The Regency Period emphasized elegance and simplicity in women’s dresses, most often using lightweight fabrics. The Romantic Era introduced full sleeves, natural waistlines, and a neat trim look. The Victorian Era fashion was meant to distinguish class and wealth, known for many impractical layers but always beautifully constructed and decorated.
