Human Traffic Light, Tex-vest

Garment, Human Interface Device (HID) for a safe traffic flow regulation, a
type of wearable electronics, that is designed for both day and night use. Its
fabric emits light via integrated LEDs of green, red and yellow color. Users
specific hand movements, where sensors are attached, launch different ani-
mations like, flow of traffic arrows to the right or to the left, blinking stop and
Stand by animation. Tex-vest was awarded with Avantex Innovation Prize 2011
Honorable Mention: Safety+Protection and was one of the winners of the TFRC
/VF Global Innovation Student Design Competition Show in septemper 2011
at the MIT Media Lab, Boston. In 2013 it was exhibited in MIAT, Ghent. Tex-
vest was a collaboration with Textile Research Institute TITV, Greiz -Thuringia.
