This universal landscape and community center design harvests rainwater and promotes inclusive play among children, bringing an essential sense of vitality to the community.  Inclusion is achieved through wheelchair access and multi-sensory play features.  Sustainable rainwater harvesting addresses the community's lack of safe domestic water. Other playground elements utilize sustainable local materials.
Universal Playground A Playground for All Children A well designed playground brings children of all levels of ability together and provides a variety of activities that encourage exercise, learning, fun, and challenge. Designing for diversity and making a great play area safe is universal design. Ramps, accessible pathways, multiple entrance/exit ways, and appropriate space and visibility for adult supervision were included to create a play environment that respects and values diversity.
A drinking fountain is situated accessibly within the site, celebrating water as a renewable resource and providing a clean and safe supply of water to the community.
