Scooter Ideas - Ideation sketches for a scooter designed for a young urban professional. Ideas ranged from elecric seated scoters to kick bikes with panniers.
Torino Scooter - The Torino is an upscale kick bike designed for youthful professionals. It features an incorporated locking mechanism and a detachable wheeled attache. Options would include customized foot decks, different brake options, and even single speed bike conversions.
Balm Holder - After observing bicycle commuters for hours, I listed several problematic activities they face. One of the most dangerous activities I found was applying lip balm while riding. After exploring several different possibilities, I chose a bar-mounted cap to be the easiest solution.
Balm Holder - The solution is a two piece, snap fit replacement for the lip balm cap. Once mounted on your handlebars, it makes applying lip balm much easier. Application time drops from 40 seconds to less than 10. Several major body motions involving weight shifting and two handed actions are eliminated altogether.
Tagalong - Preliminary ideation and development sketches for a Samsonite contest. The focus was traveling with children, so I decided to design an automated child stroller with additional carry-on storage.
Tagalong - The final concept, rendered in Photoshop. A robotic stroller may be a little bit blue-sky, but if people gate check Segways on planes, why not this?
SketchBook - This was a simple concept created for an exercise in SolidWorks. Nothing more than a laptop with an integrated graphics tablet and stylus.
240Z - This is a model of a Datsun 240Z I created in Rhino to model some body modifications. Renderings were done in Flamingo.
Scissor Model - A study model for an ergonomic scissor design. Elastofoam, hardwood, and a 3-stage candy paint.
Table - An art table made from laminated poplar, cork veneer, and walnut I made for an introductory woodworking class at MSCD.
Product Portraiture - An overview of some of my product illustrations, using Photoshop, pen & marker, and pencil
Graphic art - Some samples of my adventures away from product design.
Quick Draw - When given the task of creating a cardboard furniture piece for a student in a small apartment, I thought a drawing desk was a good place to start. The Quick Draw features a sturdy fold-away design and a hard, inset drawing surface. Slots on both sides keep your drawing tools from rolling off.
