A sense of entry was created through the newly widened entrance steps and new water features on either side. The gold textured finish on the roof draws you into the reception space with giant light fixtures
The tired old reception was made larger by knocking down interior walls which further brought the garden in while all finishes were done new to achieve the crisp, clean feel.
The double height space at the center was enhanced through a cluster of giant light fixtures

CLUB HOTEL DOLPHIN - WAIKKAL| 2010 - 2012

Refurbishment of all public spaces at a 3 star beach resort in the west coast of Sri Lanka.

Interiors done by DDN Designs | Position held: Senior designer, under Arch: Dipika Dharmadasa | Scope of work: Preparation of Concept, Schematic and Construction drawings of Interiors, Furniture, lighting design & procurement, Periodic supervision during Construction | The tired & heavy spaces were uplifted by the use of a light & neutral surface finishes, while the lush tropics were reflected through the furnishings. The existing structure was used as a canvass for the transformation of the main public spaces (i.e. the reception, bar and restaurants) through custom designed, giant light fixtures, art work, photography & artifacts. Although the project ran for nearly 2 years the construction & interior fit out was done in a record 3 months! After the completion the resort received a 4 star rating.
