Main users of the Zocalo - Typical events at the Zocalo include: -concerts -rallies -protests -military marches -national celebrations
City of Contradiction - The collage illustrates my impressions of Mexico City as 'Mega-town': Both Quick + Slow Modern + Traditional Big City + Small town
Using an Event Space as a Connector for various social classes, age groups, cultural groups - A main hub located on the Zocalo proper relays information via website, radio, webcam, interactive info. wall
Zocalo for the people: Mixing & Juxtaposing Scales of Events - Central Info. Hub can rent out equipment to be plugged into surface of square, allowing various sizes of events to take place, from art shows, amateur bands, parties, to huge festivals. All events are advertised, recorded and reviewed via hub network
Site plan: Zocalo the REMIX. - 25 plots , 2 main throughfares on surface of the square. -Vehicular traffic is removed -Surrounding areas become pedestrian areas, with capability to use plug-in pieces. -Pavilion and 'sunken plazas' located to bottom & right of the square

Basment level of Pavilion - Here, sorting, packaging and storage of equipment for plaza events take place. Forklifts and small trucks facilitate delivery of equipment.
Render_Designed rentable equipment installed in Zocalo Square - Rentable pieces include: Tarps poles lighting electrical outlets stackable furniture
Stage atop Pavilion - Permanent location for a stage and plug-in capabilities of equipment stored in basement level of pavilion, eliminates the redundancy of stage delivery, set-up and take-down.
Plug-in pieces utilized in surrounding streets - Use of these pieces creates a cohesive aesthetic to area; programs the streets for various festivals, and provides legal market spaces and equipment for illegal street vendors (ambulantes)
