VENDING FOR THE FUTURE - DESIGN TEAM: Ray Koh, Risa Ishikawa, Javier Bone-Carbone.
This project was conceived as a complete distribution/ideas system that serves as a connector between corporations looking to align themselves with sustainability issues, product designers who are looking for
conduits to implement sustainable design ideas into the marketplace and a consuming public looking to change the world by their consumption patterns.
VENDING FOR THE FUTURE (ENERGY DIAGRAM) - The machine is fully self-powered (off-the-grid).* The cultivation of products deal with energy by offering products that reduce the consumption of energy, provide alternative means for creating energy and finally offers products that change our consumption patterns towards sustainability
ultimately reducing the need for energy from manufacturing to waste disposal.
*When indoors, machines are powered by energy from wind energy farms.
VENDING FOR THE FUTURE (POSITIONING DIAGRAM) - Our solution deals with energy by considering and affecting the entire chain of how product design and production create a new demand for sustainable and energy efficient products.
By using energy sensitive/smart design as a fulcrum point between manufacturing, industry and end consumer, we have the opportunity to recalibrate the way in which energy can be reconsidered for our future needs.
VENDING FOR THE FUTURE - Ultimately products that are energy efficient and sustainable should be completely built into the product landscape whether or not a consumer cares about the environment or not. We believe that our project can serve a model for establishing a new brand, a new marketplace and a new vision that can serve as a catalyst for building better, more efficient ideas.
VENDING FOR THE FUTURE - The current challenges that hinder "sustainable" product design from becoming truly commonplace and mass market has been the lack of a central brand and marketplace to clearly deliver the message in a relative and complete context. Solar powered battery chargers are not alone. Hence in our product selection, we offered a full range of products that range from housewares, household products, disposable products, to beverages and other product types that fit into the everyday of consumers alike.
VENDING FOR THE FUTURE (STORY BORD) - Our solution deals with function as an act of consumption.
VENDING FOR THE FUTURE (BAY SAMPLE) - VENDING 2/ REDUCTION is about products addressed to eliminate totally or partially waste of materials which derive into a waste of energy. Reduction covers from recycled products to those objects hich efficency results into a reduction of waste.
