In states where it freezes over the winter and where lawn sprinkler systems are used there is a common problem come spring and it is time to turn on the sprinklers. The homeowner frequently discovers that the main valve for the sprinkler system has frozen over the winter and is now cracked and broken. The project was to come up with a better way to insulate the sprinkler valve.
