Black and White photography is my favorite. It packs so much emotion into a picture but is still simple by being monochromatic. I was able to make my subject really sharp and have the background soft enough to make her stand out. We were learning about lighting and portraits and I was able to get this picture using Short Lighting.
I wanted to use front lighting and create a soft yet still very clear image. I used Adobe Lightroom to enhance this photo.
I really wanted to capture this moment of magic. The plants in the background make this picture a little mystical. I really wanted to just have a picture that told a story. I feel like this one does. What is she looking at? Where is she?
I wanted to create a dramatic setting and it made this picture really stand out. I wanted it monochromatic but not just the normal black and white, so I gave it a little bit of a different coloring.
Capturing this happy moment was awesome. Her hair is just so free and her smile is genuine. It was a great documentation of a wonderful day at some Ice Castles. The editing enhanced the coloring of this picture (thanks to Adobe Lightroom).
