Plan 1st Floor/ 2nd Floor - The client is a single empty nester looking for warmth in a wide open space. Enjoys a love of color and pattern and texture, as well as having a need for durability for pets and grandchildren.
Loft Sketches - Progression of Sketches towards the final design solution - objective was to connect the 2nd level and 1st level to create continuity and bring down the tall ceilings.
#10 Loft Open Rendering View - Hand Rendering done by point plotting, tria/prisma markers, and prismacolor pencils. View from the living room into the dining room, kitchen, and 2nd level guest bedroom
FlatPak Plan - FlatPak Floorplan. The client needed lots of open space, wanted a feel of her old traditional home in Japan, as well as needing space to display her grandmother's 5 old kimonos. The shoji doors can be removed to make the space free flowing, just as in a traditional japanese home, and the entrance is particularly important as well.
FlatPak RCP - Reflected Ceiling Plan for the FlatPak House - the RCP design included spot lights for each kimono as well as several small pendants on a dropped ceiling to bring down the height of the home.
FlatPak Elevations - FlatPak Elevations from various locations around the space. The far left is the Master Bedroom with built ins. The middle left is the master bathroom. Middle right is the view from outside the Master bedroom - West Hall, and the far right is the Bar area.
FlatPak Rendering - The client is a japanese business woman, wanting a home away from home that speaks to her heritage. Shown in the rendering is her grandmother's old kimono.
Halsted Condo - Client is a young entreprenuer and fantasy jewelry designer wanting a whimsical and fanstastical condo space to compliment her own fanstatical design style. Her needs included a lab for jewelry making, a place to showcase it, lots of space for entertaining and boarding guests, as well as a space for her kitten when she needs quiet time.
