Easy to use and unlike conventional mouse traps, the “Bait and Ball” uses a ball mechanism in which the mouse nudges up the shaft a small ball in order to get to the bait compartment that can be smelt though vent holes. In doing so the ball then falls blocking the door and trapping the mouse. It is easy to clean as it is made from dish washable material HDPE that can be stored safety, with a design that needs no toxins. Its cylindrical form is resistant to gnawing due to radius’ which are proven to be impossible for a mouse to bite on to. It is a new, humane and simple way of catching and disposing of or catching and releasing elsewhere, a trapped mouse.

Mouse Trap: Bait and Ball

The Common House Mouse, found indoors in the UK is considered a pest as it is a carrier of bacteria and viruses and also because of its need to gnaw which often causes damage to house wood structures, electrical wiring and plumbing. The design brief was to design an injection molded trap (maximum size of 150 mm X 150 mm X 150 mm) with no electronics or complicated triggering mechanisms (clockwork etc.) that can be gnawed and cause the trap to fail. It also needed to be capable of multiple use with over 5 years working life expectancy.
