Interface Design KB Gear

Interface designs for digital photo and video editing software for
the manufacturer of a popular digital camera for kids.

Portage Interactive entered into a development agreement with KB Gear, a leading manufacturer of digital camera for kids. They were seeking development of digital photo, video and music editing/enhancing software to accompany their line of hardware. The products were based off their popular JamCam and the designs for the supporting software were to reflect some of the physical characteristics of the cameras, which included rugged-looking rubber grips on metallic surfaces. The idea behind the interface for these products was to emulate a physical hand-held device which would have a fun, futuristic look and lots of eye candy. For example, tool palettes would expand and retract, and the background would have panels animated with color and motion.
